Rebecca RD, CD
I'm a clinical dietitian working at 3 hospitals in Utah's Salt Lake Valley. I love my job because I get experience working in a 500+ bed hospital, and also working in 2 smaller hospitals which gives me a varied workload and allows me to work with nearly every population!
I graduated from Brigham Young University with my bachelors of science in Dietetics in 2012. I then went on to complete my dietetic internship, also through Brigham Young University, in 2013.
I will begin a graduate degree program in wellness at the University of Utah in 2014.
My nutrition passions lie in the wellness sector. I enjoy working with motivated populations who want to improve their lifestyles. I find gratification working with people as we address their eating triggers and then find ways to include healthful habits in their lifestyles.
My Soapbox
There are currently so many voices promoting diets, nutritional supplements, and lifestyles. What's legitimate and realistic and what's not??? Let's focus on eating an appropriate amount, getting variety from each food group and only totally cutting out foods that we are allergic to or intolerant of. But, let's reduce foods that are high in saturated fat, added sugars, and salt. My mantra (for the general population, not those in need of special dietary intervention to treat a specific disease/condition) is moderation, moderation, moderation, all things in moderation but eat all the veggies you want! If a diet or food fad doesn't follow these simple rules, it's probably not something that is sustainable to keep the weight off and may even be unhealthy. Yikes!

I enjoy being at home and abroad. I am passionate about food, eating, cooking, friends/family, traveling, and exercise-except for running. I have a burning hatred for running, that's why I dance, hike, and take pilates classes.
